WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?

First, please write, call or e-mail
our Georgia Federal and State elected officials and USFS management. Relay your outrage at the arbitrary and capricious decision by the Forest Service to severely limit trail riding in OUR national forests.  (Need some help on what to say? Click here for examples)

Second, please donate , if you haven't already, to the BCHSG Legal Fund.  The defense of our historical right to ride will be a long drawn out expensive ordeal within the USFS Appeal Process and the Federal court system. We must draw the line somewhere.  From the responses we have received from you, I believe that we all support this action but we need your help!

Third, get the word out to your friends and other equestrian groups.  Talk with saddle clubs.  Recruit their members to join BCHNG or BCHSG.  The larger our organization, the more influence we will have and the easier it becomes to communicate with each other. Visit tack shops, feed stores, and other businesses that rely on the horse industry. Explain that they stand to lose business if the FS decision stands and encourage them to join us with a business membership.

Senate

Of these two Senators, Johnny Isakson is a co-sponsor of the "Right to Ride" bill. Although it hasn't make it to a vote yet, he is probably our best ally.  The best approach is to send them an email, then follow that up with a phone call to the office.
