"August is too hot to have a workday."

We heard it but we planned one anyway. Hurricane Fay gave us some unseasonable weather and we were able to work almost the entire 6.5 mile trail on foot in two days! We had great turnouts for Friday and Saturday and want to thank everyone who attended! If you get a chance, please ride the Fallen Creek Horse Trails at Scull Shoals and let us know what you think!

Clearing a Path

May was a busy month for alot of people and our workday was smaller than in April but we appreciate everyone who showed up to hand work the trails out of 1099!

We had a great showing at our April workday! Thank you to everyone who came out and helped.

See the horse trail sign in the middle of this tree?

This is what that trail looked like a short while later!

Ron Cook earned the "keeps them out latest" award

Some crew leaders had longer ears than others

Safety First!

And we take all kinds!

Thanks to everyone who came out! We hope to see you all next month. Details to follow on the May workday!

BCHSG wants to extend a huge thank you to everyone who participated in the State Wide State Parks Workday at FDR on March 5th, 2008.
Neither Snow nor Hail nor temperatures in the 20's kept 22 brave volunteers from working the trails this year!
